Ada Kay St. John (Snell), 73, passed away at home in Mercedes on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born on April 13, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Van C. and Kathryn Vaughn Snell. Ada Kay is survived by her husband Ronnie St John, two sons Brad White and wife Kim of Fort Worth, Tracy White and wife Missy of Mercedes, Texas, Step Children Jill and her husband Jim Butler of Austin, Texas, Jan St. John of New Braunfels, Texas, Jeff and his wife Veronica St John of Harlingen, Texas, a brother Kenneth C Snell, grandchildren Blake White, Sarah Kathryn White, William Reynolds, Sarah Jo Reynolds, John Reynolds, Elayne White, Kaylin White, Payton White, Jake Butler, Jordan Butler, Luke Larson, Ben Larson, Whitney Larson, and Alexa St John. Great-grandson Brayden Flores. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ada Kay was one of the kindest most thoughtful people making everyone feel special. She went out of her way to remember every birthday, holiday and special event for family and friends regardless of its importance. She took great pride in pulling together family special events that included everyone in her extended family. She also had a great sense of humor that complimented her kind and generous personality. She went out of her way to make sure everyone felt loved. She was one of a kind! She was a great mom and grandmother. She always put her kids first. She was a taxi driver for two active boys; making sure they made every practice and game. She always made time to attend every event, birthday and holiday she could with all her children and grandchildren. Ada Kay was also active in the community. She loved her church, First United Methodist Church Mercedes, TX and was involved with many charitable and social clubs including Los Ebanos Study Club, PEO and Junior League to name a few. Above all, Ada Kay was a loving wife to Ronnie for 33 years. Funeral service was held on Friday, December 2, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Mercedes. Officiating the service was Pastor Rev. Michael Quist with First United Methodist Church. Serving as pallbearers were Jeff St. John, Payton White, Blake White, CA Hinojosa, Ben Larson, Mike Larson, John Reynolds, William Reynolds and Jim Butler.
