Weslaco- Alexandro "Alex" Treviño, born on March 13, 2002, in Harlingen, Texas, passed away at his home on March 1, 2025. He was just 22 years old, a young man whose remarkable spirit touched the lives of many during his time on this earth.
Alex, was a proud graduate of Weslaco High School’s Class of 2020. His passion for technology led him to South Texas College, where he was on track to graduate this May with an Associate’s degree in Information Technology. Alex’s dedication to his education reflected his character—kind, gentle, patient, and genuinely caring. While pursuing his degree, he served as a Team Leader at Office Depot, excelling in various customer service roles. His strong interpersonal skills and compassion left a lasting impact on those he worked with and served
A devout Catholic, Alex received all his sacraments and participated in the annual Easter Play, showcasing his deep faith and commitment to his community. His nurturing spirit extended beyond people to his beloved German Shepherds, Apollo, Sheeba, and Chico. He cared for them each night with great affection and responsibility, ensuring they were always fed and well-loved. Alex also loved his baby sister, Gabbi’s cat, Kiki.
Alex found joy in many passions and hobbies. A devoted marine life enthusiast, he spent countless hours maintaining his elaborate saltwater aquarium, creating a thriving habitat for his fish and corals. His love for nature extended beyond the ocean—he cherished fishing, camping, and hiking, always embracing the outdoors. Fitness was also essential to his life, as he remained dedicated to health and well-being through memberships at several local gyms, including Tru Fit, Planet Fitness, and Iron House.
Among his friends, Alex was known as '’19” a nod to his love for video gaming, especially on Xbox. Beyond gaming, he was a dependable and caring friend. He often stepped up as the designated driver to ensure everyone made it home safely after outings, a true reflection of his thoughtful and considerate nature.
Alex was a wonderful little brother, but an even more amazing big brother. Affectionately called 'Gamer' by his younger brother, Mikey, he was always there to listen, offer advice, or lend a hand fixing his truck. With his sweet, compassionate, and playful nature, Alex loved surprising his baby sister, Gabbi, with snacks from Stripes or treats from Starbucks—sometimes even in the middle of the night. He also shared special moments with her on the soccer field, playing after school and teaching her some impressive moves.
Alex’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, unwavering support, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered and cherished.
