ARLINGTON, TX - On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 8:52 a.m, Amanda Ozuna, the loving mother of 3 children, passed away at the age of 77 in Arlington, Texas.
Amanda was born on April 29, 1942, in Weslaco, Texas to Flora and Ernesto Ozuna. She lived in Fresno and Sanger California and Texas but lived most of her life happily in Texas. Amanda had a passion for reading, (both non-fiction and true crime), interior design, crocheting, embroidering, sewing, shopping, her family, friends, and her faith. Amanda was baptized on August 28, 2005, in Dallas, TX at the Oaks Fellowship.
Amanda was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Elizabeth Garza, son Hector Garza Jr. (Olga).
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Pro (Ruben) of Houston, grandchildren, Patricia Pro, Veronica Quick (James), Ruben Pro, Hortencia, Amalia, Mario, Susan, Valerie, Tiffany, and Melissa Garza. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Ernesto Ozuna (Maria de la Luz+), Efrain Ozuna (Maria Elena), Ester Villarreal (Jose) all of Weslaco, Eloy Ozuna of Grand Prarie, and Linda Rivera (Antonio II) of Mission, and several nieces, nephews, cousins. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of many.
Visitation will be Friday, 4-9 pm. A chapel service will be Saturday, 2 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Burial will follow at Sacred Park in Mercedes.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Quick, Juan Fidencio, Alex Gonzales, Ernesto Ozuna, Gabriel Ozuna, and Brian Odom.
