Weslaco- Anarita “Ana” Delgado, 34, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 7th, 2023. Ana was born on April 5th, 1989, to Luther Warren Garrett and Celia Valdez Garrett. She grew up in Weslaco with her two brothers.
Ana’s natural optimistic look on life, cheerful personality, and charisma was magnetic. She had countless friends and social groups. Ana fell in love as a teenager and married shortly after graduating from Weslaco East High School. It wasn’t long before Ana and Isaac welcomed their first child, and Ana found her true calling, motherhood. Ana embraced being a mom and all the joy and responsibilities required of her. She was a “do it all” mom.
When the children were off to school, Ana went to work. Ana was always up for a challenge and helped some of her friends in their small businesses. She had an entrepreneurial spirit, and her ambition and drive were appreciated. Eventually, Ana went to work full-time at G3 Scrap Metal, where she helped with administrative duties for the past four years.
Ana was a country girl at heart. She and her friends were able to attend many concerts over the years. Ana loved to sing, dance, and have a great time. She was outgoing and could talk to anyone.
Ana was also a “shop till you drop” kind of girl. But, as much as she loved to shop, her favorite thing to do was spend the day at the beach. She loved putting her feet in the warm sand and listening to the waves.
Ana is preceded in death by her father, Luther Warren Garrett, and brother, Carlos “Charlie” Warren Garrett.
She is survived by her mom, Celia Garrett; brother, Edgar Valdez (Ruth); children, Darrius, Lincoln, Caroline, and Violet; nephews, Dominic, Nicolas, Liam Edgar, Leonidas, and Santiago Valdez.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10th, 10 am-9 pm, with a prayer service at 7 pm. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 11th, at 10 am at McCaleb Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
