Weslaco- Anna Buenrostro, born on September 13, 1955, in Weslaco, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at Knapp Medical Center. Anna's life was dedicated to the service of, mainly through her long and illustrious in nursing. She began her journey in healthcare at the young age of sixteen at Knapp Medical Center, working diligently to support herself while pursuing her education. With determination and dedication, she earned her nursing degree and devoted over 45 years to the community of Weslaco.
Anna's career was marked by her exceptional care and compassion, particularly in the NICU and pediatric unit, where she lovingly tended to infants and children. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her professional life; she cherished her role as an aunt to her nieces and nephews, showering them with love and support, a testament to her caring and selfless personality.
Anna was remembered for her caring and selfless personality, often regarded as one of the most generous individuals one could meet. Her numerous friendships reflected the warmth she radiated to those around her. Outside of her nursing career, Anna had a passion for knitting and cross-stitching, finding joy in creating beautiful works of art and sharing them with loved ones.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jose Buenrostro. She is survived by her sisters Velma Kennedy (Bruce), and Gloria Negron (Delis); brother, Joseph Buenrostro (Lydia); nephews and nieces, Patrick Bryce Kennedy (Sophia), Elizabeth Anne Sandifer (Cole), Joseph Ryan Buenrostro, Darissa Buenrostro, Aaron Negron (Haley), Dominic Negron (Violet), great-nephews and nieces, Sadie and Katie Kennedy, Eden and Thorin Sandifer, Noelle Delgado (Elijah), Abram Negron, Cruz Negron, Iris Negron, and Jude Negron, and caregiver, Myrthala Rodriguez.
A Mass in her honor will be celebrated on November 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, located at 109 S Illinois Ave, Weslaco, TX 78596. This will be followed by her burial at Weslaco Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
