It is with sadness but with gratitude for having him in our life, that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Tony Brezinski, on January 23, 2015 in Weslaco, Texas at the age of 79 years. He was a man of profound integrity, faith, tireless energy and compassion for his worldwide community along with a love and dedication for all of his family that knew no bounds. Tony was predeceased by his parents Michael and Anna; first wife Shirley, second wife Patricia; step-daughter Jennifer; brothers, Peter, Edward, Carl, Walter, John, Marion, Stanley, Louis; sisters, Josephine, Mary. Left to celebrate his life and remember his generous smile, warm hugs and songs shared from his heart are his loving wife Colleen; daughters, Karen Wells (John) and Diana Doncaster (David); stepchildren, Patrick Green (Kate), Terry Johnson (Janet), Kirby Johnson (Cheryl), Darcy Johnson (Darlene), Blair Johnson (Dawn), Dan Johnson (Shar), Don Johnson (Michelle), Beverly Johnson, grandchildren Braydon and Brittany Doncaster, seventeen step-grandchildren five great-grandchildren. Tony is also survived by his youngest sister Adele Rosko (Lorne); as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Tony achieved great success professionally in his careers with the RCMP where he retired as a Sgt following twenty-five dedicated years and as Manager of Loss Prevention for Western Canada for Sears Canada. In both, he made profound friendships and garnered respect and admiration that inspire those that worked with him. In retirement, Tony continued to share his passion for people through endless charitable work with The Lions Club, CNIB, RCMP Veterans and the Holy Trinity Parish. Tony received many accolades and recognitions for his service including the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award, RCMP Veteran Association Life Membership, Saskatchewan Centennial Volunteerism Award, Lion’s Club Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, Lions Foundation of Canada Fellowship Award. Living his life as a humble servant, the recognitions and awards, though appreciated, were never why he gave so much of himself. Tony loved life, people, and his environment and wanted to leave it happier and healthier than how he had found it while at home and in his many travels. One of Tony’s great passions was sharing the gift of fellowship through music with family, friends and countless strangers that heard him play at nursing homes, festivals, music jamborees, dances and backyards. Tony and Colleen spent their last seventeen years enjoying their winters in Texas and summers at Sherwood Forest with great friends and family where they were very involved with music and social events. When not playing music, Tony could be found enjoying a round of golf with family and friends or sharing the latest successes of his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends who he loved so very much. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. A time of fellowship and remembrance will follow immediately in the Holy Trinity lower hall. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory, to the CNIB, 2550 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 3Z4 or RCMP Heritage Centre, 5907 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 0P4.
