Antonia was born on January 31st, 1927 to Martin Guajardo and Luz (Alaniz) Guajardo in Mercedes, Texas. Antonia grew up in Mercedes and worked as a migrant and later for McManus produce. She was a great cook, some of the family favorites were tamales, caldos, and oatmeal, but everything Antonia made was delicious. Antonia loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time working in the yard. She loved to wear pink clothes. That was her favorite color. Antonia was also very close to her sisters, and they spent many afternoons watching novelas together.
Antonia was a devout Catholic and an ideal role model for her siblings, nephews, and nieces, whom she adored. In addition, she was a hard worker, kind-hearted, and would selflessly go above and beyond to care for others.
