Weslaco- Armando was born on October 27, 1965, the eighth child of Manuel De Jesus and Paula (Aguilar) Munoz. He passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. He leaves a legacy marked by dedication, love, and cherished memories.
Armando met his soulmate, Lydia Campos, in high school. They were the youngest of eight in their respective families. They spent the rest of their lives together, married for forty-two years.
Armando's life was a testament to dedication, particularly in his work in the construction industry. His unwavering commitment showcased his strong work ethic and served as a source of inspiration for those around him. Armando took great pride in his career, always striving for excellence in the projects he undertook.
Armando's life was enriched by his roles as a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He found immense joy in spending time at the ranch with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories. Whether cooking outdoors or simply admiring the stars, Armando cherished every moment spent in the beauty of nature alongside his family. His passion for watching movies with his grandchildren created many delightful experiences they will treasure forever.
Armando was a man of faith and knew Jesus Christ as his Heavenly Father. He prayed daily and recited Psalm 91 as a favorite prayer.
Armando's kindness and warmth left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his roles as a great husband and father and an awesome grandpa who brought joy and happiness to his family.
A visitation in honor of Armando will be held on August 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at McCaleb Funeral Home, 900 W 4th St, Weslaco, TX 78596.
He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones. Armando A. Munoz Sr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the love he shared and the lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Maria Saenz, Manuel Munoz Jr. , Celia Munoz, and granddaughter, Ariella America Vallejo.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia; their daughter, Amanda Munoz (Ivan Velasquez); Armando “AJ” Munoz Jr.; siblings Juan Munoz (Rosemary), Clemente Munoz (Irma Leticia+), Sara Martinez (Johnny), Lydia Rocha (Raul), Anna Contreras (Manuel); and numerous nieces and nephews.
