Axel Jimenez

Weslaco: Axel Jimenez, 22, passed away in a tragic auto accident on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023. Axel was born on November 17th, 2000, to Juan Carlos Melgarejo Jimenez and Norma Rincon in McAllen, Texas. 

Axel grew up in Weslaco, where he met his soulmate, Evalilia Treviño, when they were fifteen. Axel and Evalila had their first daughter when they were both eighteen. Axel loved being a dad and wanted to be the best provider he could be to his family. He worked in construction and quickly worked his way up to scaffolding. Axel was talented and dependable, which earned him plenty of opportunities. He would travel when necessary but always wanted to provide so Evalila could stay home with their children. 

Axel was mechanically inclined. He loved his maroon Chevy Silverado and spent countless hours fixing it. Axel enjoyed watching action movies. John Wick was one of his favorites. Axel enjoyed spending time at the beach and the calmness of the ocean.

Most importantly, Axel loved his family and friends. He enjoyed having everyone over for a barbecue. Axel’s siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins remained close friends all his life. In addition, Axel was a great father and was over the moon when he recently discovered that he and Evalila were expecting twins. 

Axel is survived by his maternal grandparents, Alejandro and Juana Rincon; his mom, Norma Rincon; his dad, Juan Carlos Jimenez; spouse, Evalilia Treviño; daughters, Adelina Faith and Aleida Rose Jimenez, and twins on the way; sisters, Elisa Galvan (Juan Perez) and Haylee Villafranca, brother, Moses G. Villafranca, aunt, Dora Rincon, uncles, Jesus Rincon (Virginia Martinez), Alvaro Rincon (Juanita), Francisco Rincon (Maria L.), Gilberto Rincon, and Eduvijes Rincon (Irma), nieces and nephews, Kristopher, Mateo, and Matias Perez. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31st, 11-9 pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, 10am, at McCaleb Funeral Home followed by burial at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
