Weslaco- Belinda Lopez. 45, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after battling stomach cancer since December. Belinda was born on May 3, 1973, to Guadalupe Garcia and Maria Oralia Reyes Garcia. She was raised in Weslaco. Belinda was fourth born of six children. Belinda met Eduardo "Eddie" as a sophomore at Weslaco High School, and they have been inseparable since. They got married right after high school and soon welcomed a first daughter, Selina. They had three more daughters, Lisa, Olivia, and Leslie and raised them all in Weslaco. Belinda worked as a medical office clerk for Nuestra Clinica. She and Eddie both worked hard to raise their girls. When she was not working, she was spending time with Eddie, her girls, and later grandchildren. Belinda and Eddie spent most nights and weekends at the softball field when the girls were growing up. Later, they spent most Friday and Saturday nights together, watching a movie or just enjoying each other's company. Grandchildren entered the picture and Belinda spent as much time as she could with them, spoiling and loving them. Belinda will always be remembered by her love and devotion to her family. She was a devoted wife and best friend to Eddie, she was a loving and caring mom and grandma, and a sister like no other.
