WESLACO - B.L Reed, 85, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco with his wife Diana by his side.
B.L was born in Marvell, Arkansas on June 25th, 1935 and was enlisted in the US Army where he served his country as Artillery Ballistics MAT Crewman with a medal in Marksmanship. After being honorably discharged from the US Army B.L went on to make a career out of agricultural spraying and owning and operating a fleet of cotton pickers that he worked all over the states of Texas and Arkansas.
B.L. married Diana Reed on February 12th, 2000; they were happily married for 19 years and together for 25 years in total.
B.L loved visiting with friends and family, we all are going to miss his charismatic, humorous personality and his spiffy ability to capture the moment when re-living stories of the past.
B.L. is survived by his wife Diana Reed, sons Mitchell and Vince Reed, stepson James Cook, daughter-in-law Darlene Cook, stepdaughter Jennifer Montes and his 7 loving grandchildren Erica Montes, James W. Cook, Jaylene Cook, Magik Montes, Memphis Cook, RJ Hernandez and Desiree Hernandez.
Funeral Ceremony will be held at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas on Friday, September 6th, 2019 at 10:00 am. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN https://www.stjude.org/.
