ALAMO – Burton Albert Hughes born November 11, 1944, and passes away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in McAllen, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elma Jones Hughes and Albert Compton Hughes of Edcouch, Texas and brother-in-law, Robert W. Sims of Pasadena, Texas. He is survived by his sister Lana Hughes Sims and her partner, Eugene G. Samson, beloved niece, Lydia Sims Derr and husband Robert A. Derr, and beloved grand-niece, Chelsea Derr Gunn and husband Zachary W. Gunn.
Burt leaves behind many friends and caretakers who helped and supported him as he journeyed through life. Ye family wishes to express immense gratitude for all the loving kindness with which they enriched his life and cared for him in his final years.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the chapel of McCaleb Funeral Home, 900 W. 4th St., Weslaco, Texas 78596. The Reverend Eric Dittman will be officiating.
