WESLACO - Concepción Ramirez entered eternal rest on January 21, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Ramirez eight years ago. Concepción answered to Concha, Connie, Grandma, and Gigi. Concha alongside her husband worked hard to provide for her family. For 15 years she worked at Dickey's in Weslaco. She always had a grace for sewing and crafts. It was not unusual for her to sew clothes her herself and family. Her true joy was crafting and gifting the finished products to family and friends. Her home was managed with a strict hand but never lacked love. She had an answer for everything and knew how to hold her own in any situation. She loved her family fiercely and wanted nothing but the best for them. She will always be remembered as a very hard worker and as someone who knew how to get the most out of a dollar. Concha is survived by her sister Hortencia "Tencha" Cardoza, Elva (Ruben) Rios and Aurora (Isaac) Galindo. Her children, Janie "Cana" (Jesus+) Vela, Luis "Pico" (Norma) Ramirez, Paul "Nuno" (Eudelia) Ramirez, Melva Nora (Butch) Sauceda, Dr. Arnaldo "Arnie" (Diana) Ramirez, Gloria+ (Don) Drake, Eduardo+ "Eddie" (Nellie) Ramirez. Concha is survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rep. Armando (Mando) Martinez, Israel Galindo, Rick Vela, Liborio (Trea) Hinojosa III, Isidoro Galindo and Jesse Vela. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 10 am to 9 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 10 am, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
