Mission- Diana R. Gonzales, a cherished soul and a beloved member of her community, peacefully passed away on March 17, 2025, at McAllen Medical Center. Born on May 23, 1957, in Weslaco, Texas, Diana was deeply rooted in her hometown, where she flourished in the love of family and friends.
Diana married her soulmate, Ricardo Gonzales, on January 4, 1975. Together, they raised three boys in Weslaco. With her warm and outgoing personality, Diana thrived in retail, always making customers feel welcome. Many may fondly remember her friendly assistance at Ross, where she worked for many years. She later brought her creativity and talent for baking to H-E-B, where she contributed her skills in the bakery.
Diana’s life was a beautiful reflection of kindness and faith. As a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, her faith was not just a part of her life—it was the guiding light that shaped her values, decisions, and treatment of others. Her unwavering belief defined her spirit, and she generously shared her wisdom, warmth, and compassion with everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
Her warmth and spirit deeply touched those fortunate enough to know Diana. She was a compassionate listener, always offering sound advice with an open heart. Her extraordinary ability to make others feel valued and understood created lasting connections. With her genuine interest in people’s lives, she formed bonds that transcended time and distance, leaving an enduring imprint on all who knew her.
Among her many passions, Diana found pure joy in baking and crafting delicious treats that warmly filled her home and brought smiles to family and friends. She loved shopping, decorating, and gardening, effortlessly transforming her surroundings into a haven of beauty and tranquility. With an innate sense of style, Diana took great pleasure dressing up, always exuding confidence, elegance, and grace.
Diana is preceded in death by her father, Vicente Ramirez, and her loving husband, Ricardo Gonzales.
Diana is survived by her mom, Florencia Garza; sons, Hiram Gonzales (Sandra), Julian Gonzales, and Adrian Gonzales (Aletse); siblings, Irma Cantu, Norma Rodriguez (Joel), Jesus Garza (Patricia), and Carlos Garza; grandchildren, Alexis, Hiram, Tiffany, Nathan, Adrian, Mavis, and Aviana; great-grandson, Sebastian, and numerous friends and extended family who will cherish her memory and carry her light forward. Her loss is felt profoundly among those graced by her kindness and wisdom.
The visitation honoring Diana will be held at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco, Texas, on March 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who touched many hearts and whose spirit will continue to inspire.
