Weslaco-Domingo Pablo Sepulveda, 92, of Weslaco, Texas, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Domingo was the third son born to Amado and Guadalupe Sepulveda in San Juan, Texas, on January 25, 1931. He was a longtime resident and a member of one of the pioneer families of the city of Weslaco. He also served his country in the US Air Force and US Air Force Reserve. Domingo was a dedicated public servant and served as the chairman for the first Boys and Girls Club Building, officiated local football, basketball, and baseball games, served as a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troops 51 and 35 (where he received the Silver Beaver Award, one of scouting’s highest honors), and was elected to serve as a Weslaco ISD Trustee for over two decades. In May 1986, the athletic complex at Weslaco High School was named in his honor. His love for public service was instilled in his children and grandchildren and is one of his greatest and most enduring legacies. Domingo is preceded in death by his parents, Amado P. and Guadalupe R. Sepulveda; his wife of 64 years, Noemi Rico Sepulveda; his brothers Eliberto Sepulveda and Jesus Sepulveda; sisters, Irma and Emma Sepulveda; and his son, Rene Sepulveda. Domingo is survived by his brother Humberto Sepulveda and his wife Lala Sepulveda; his sisters Emma Trevino and Maria Salinas; his son Noe “Ruben” Sepulveda and his wife Esmeralda Sepulveda; son Dr. Robert Sepulveda, M.D. and his wife Dawn Nehr-Sepulveda; daughter Cynthia Sepulveda; son Eli Sepulveda and his wife Leticia Sepulveda; son Eloy Sepulveda; daughter Sandra Sepulveda; grandsons Anthony Sepulveda, Christopher Paul Cavazos, and Eloy Tomas Sepulveda; granddaughters Jessika Renee Sepulveda, Judge Lauren Renee Sepulveda, Jennifer Noemi Cavazos, Veronica Sepulveda Martinez, Kristin Sepulveda Munoz, Dr. Julia Alejandra Sepulveda, MD, and Brittany Carolyn Sepulveda; his ten great-grandchildren. A rosary will be held on November 14, 2023, at 6 pm with a viewing all day at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco, Texas. The funeral mass will be held on November 15, 2023, at 1 pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco, Texas with interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park. Sons Noe “Ruben” Sepulveda, Dr. Robert Sepulveda, MD, Eloy Sepulveda, Eli Sepulveda, and grandsons Anthony Sepulveda and Christopher Paul Cavazos will serve as pallbearers.
