Doris Whitaker

Weslaco- Doris Whitaker of Weslaco, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born in May, Texas and moved with her parents to Weslaco at the age of 1. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Daniel J. Whitaker; her husband, Leon Whitaker; and a daughter, Elaine McKee (Walter) of Coupland, TX. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Whitaker (Lina Whitaker, deceased) of Edinburg and Roger Whitaker of Weslaco; 3 granddaughters, Kristen Riley (Norman) of Bandera, TX, Gayla Turner (Jon) and Kimberly McKee, all of Coupland, TX. She was blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Hunter Adams, Madison Adams and Colton Riley of, all of Bandera. Doris was a lifelong and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Weslaco.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dr. Steven Parker, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Weslaco. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to your favorite church or charity.
