Eleanor W. Scott-Meyers

Ellie was known for her love of life, centering on her family and large host of good friends. Always the avid card player, game enthusiast and cribbage player where she learned fast to never miss any pegging points while playing cribbage with her dad, brothers and many others. 

Her love of cooking and entertaining large groups with her never ending arsenal of fantastic cinnamon rolls, bread, waffles, pies and homemade raspberry, and strawberry rhubarb jam. 

Always a hard worker, she ran circles around most of us. Working for 35+ years at UPS and also her small businesses of Scott's Flowers and Paintball Games. She loved to give you the biggest hug and warm smiles for all. Always there to help if you needed, volunteering at her local hospital and very involved in her church and community. 

Ellie Peacefully passed away in her "Happy Place" in Texas, surrounded by her husband and partner in Crime Dean Meyer, beloved daughters Marianne Matzke (Lew), Cathy (Steve) Casavant, Jane (Tony) Riege, Carolyn Knutson-Border, bonus daughter Trina Wybierala and niece Keri Freund. Grandchildren Aleasha Markley, Michael (Amanda) Matzke, Todd Knutson, Rose and Andrew Border, Harmony Scott. 

Great Grandchildren Noah, Madison, Kayley, Alyssa, Mya, Owen, Aleena and Dominic along with numerous adopted nieces and nephews who were very special to her in their own right. 

The family visitation is planned for Saturday, January 20th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Love of Christ Lutheran Church, 300 South Border, Weslaco, TX. Memorial service is set for 11:00 am, there will be a luncheon following the service.
