Weslaco- Elida T. Lozano, 85, passed away on Friday night, September 18, 2015. She was totally devoted to her family and friends, and her smile would light up the room. She was a very strong person with a will to live second to none.
She used to love to bowl in a league and she won many trophies, she made her clothes and those of my sister, she had a great green thumb, and she was always trying to find a way to help her family with whatever we needed. She worked for many years at Anthony’s and JC Penney in Weslaco in the retail department and she designed their window displays with new wear products.
Her deceased parents were Cruz Trevino and Paula Garza-Trevino. She was born in Harlingen Texas. She had three brothers and one sister: Chris and Israel Trevino both deceased, and her surviving brother and sister: Amado “Homer” Balli and Irma Balli-Carreon.
She had two children with Noe P. Rodriguez (deceased); daughter Diana Rodriguez-Flores (deceased) and surviving son Noe Rodriguez Jr., and a surviving granddaughter from Diana and Ricardo Flores named Marivel Flores.
She was also remarried to Hector Lozano (deceased).
Serving as pallbearers will be: Ruben Maldonado, Urban Gonzalez, Leonel Rodriguez, Fred Rodriguez, Dan Garza and Jaime Carreon.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22nd at McCaleb Funeral Home (956) 968-7533 in Weslaco TX from 4 to 9 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m., and the funeral will be on Wednesday, September 23rd at 10 a.m. The Catholic Church is Joan of Arc and the burial cemetery is Sacred Park Cemetery located at N. Mile 2 West Road Weslaco TX 78570.
