Elizabeth T Diaz

Weslaco, Elizabeth T. Diaz, 86 went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 22, 2017 at her residence in Weslaco surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born on October 14, 1931 to Rafael and Andrea Torres in Kennedy, Texas. Elizabeth grew up with ten brothers. She married Fidel Diaz and they had nine children that they raised in Weslaco, Texas. She was a woman of faith and also loved to cook, bake and sew for her family. . She enjoyed to praise the Lord by singing hymns with the church choir and reading bible scriptures. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents Rafael and Andrea Torres, her loving husband Fidel Diaz and her son Ismael Diaz. Brothers Samuel, Elias H., Anastascio, Daniel, Alberto, Elias (2) Torres. She is survived by her children, Rosa Elia Pena (Roberto), Efrain Diaz, Noelia Garcia (Jaime), Abel Diaz, Estela Rodriguez (Robert), Maria Pilar (Mary) Zuniga (Ramiro), Elpidio (Ely) Diaz, Eduardo Diaz (Tami) and daughter-in-law (Barbara Diaz). Grandchildren Melissa Hernandez (Nick), David Esquivel (Yesenia), Sandra Garcia (Joe Trevino), Daniel Diaz (Leticia), Stephen Diaz, Noemi Rodriguez, Clarissa Garcia, Omar Garcia, Phillip Andrew Zuniga (Seana), Christina A. Monette (Jonathan), Andrea M. Martinez (Gilberto Jr.), Samantha M. Zuniga, Megan Diaz, Miles Diaz, Chazz Diaz, and Ely Diaz and twelve great grandchildren. A special thank you from the Diaz family to Dr. Olga Olivarez-Herrera, Luz E. Martinez DDS, and Dr. Juan J. Gonzalez-Dickson, Selah Hospice, and De Oro Provider Services and staff for all the care they provided to our beloved mother. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017, 1:00pm to 8:00pm with a prayer service at 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 24th, at 2:00pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
