Edinburg-Elsie Lorene Smith Lane, age 85, passed away, from complications from Alzheimer’s, at her daughter’s home in Edinburg, Texas on July 16, 2021. Mrs. Lane was born June 22, 1936, at her parent’s home on Dry Creek Road in Genoa, Arkansas. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 27 years Carrel Raymond “Buckshot” Lane; her parents Jacob Theodore “Ted” Smith, Sr. and Effie Loriene Davenport Smith; her sister Janiece Smith Drewery; and her brother Jacob Theodore “Teddy” Smith, Jr. She is survived by her brother James Peter “Jimmy” Smith; her children Karolene Lane Cigainero (Paul) of Orlando, Florida, Pamela A. Lane of Edinburg, Texas, Raymond N. “Ray” Lane of Seattle, Washington; her grandchildren Brandon L. Cigainero (Rebekah) of Orlando, Florida, Sonny J. Leija, Autumn N. Leija (Eric Martinez), and Hunter R Leija all of Edinburg, Texas; and her great-grandchildren Heaven N Leija, Lexie B Leija, Madden K Martinez and Zoey A. Martinez all of Edinburg, Texas. Mrs. Lane’s memorial service will be held at a later date with entombment at Holly Springs Cemetery, Genoa, Arkansas.
