Erika Pineda, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 28, 2024, at the Knapp Medical Center in Texas, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. Born on May 3, 1979, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, Erika embodied a spirit filled with love, intelligence, and strength throughout her life.

Erika's love for her family, including her siblings, five children, and nine nephews and nieces, was unwavering. She was not just a mother but also a dedicated advocate and cheerleader for her family. Her consistent encouragement for education and hard work instilled values that will continue to guide her family's future, and she celebrated their achievements with pride and joy.

Erika was a woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. Her caring and hard-working nature was complemented by an infectious wit that often lightened the mood. She loved color, as seen in her vibrant collection of pencils, pens, and crayons. Whether she was playing Loteria with spirited enthusiasm or enjoying a taco from Taco Bell or a McChicken sandwich from McDonald's with an RC Cola, Erika's love for life's simple joys was evident to all who knew her.

Her proudest accomplishments lay in her unwavering support for her loved ones and her commitment to helping those in need. Erika’s spirituality was profound; she believed deeply in the judgment of one creator, God in heaven, which guided her actions and choices throughout her life.

Erika is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Jaime Bravo and Nora Alicia De la Cruz, and her daughter, Nayeli.

She is survived by her children, Abigail “Abbie” and husband Gerardo, Jessika, Kimberly, and Joncito, and her sisters, San Juanita “Jenny” and Yisel Bravo; nine nieces and nephews, Ricardo, Alexandra, Aron, Mia, Brittany, Eddie, Anthony, and Zamantha, and countless friends.
