Esmeralda Hernandez

WESLACO — Weslaco- Esmeralda Hernandez, 79, passed away February 9, 2014 at her residence in Weslaco. She was born in Weslaco, TX on June 27, 1934 to Federico and Soledad Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Ramiro Hernandez; her brother, Pantaleon Hernandez; and her sisters, Cristela H. Mendoza, Paula H. Gonzalez and Nievea Hernandez.
She is survived by her only son, Ramiro Hernandez, Jr and wife, Nori; grandchildren, Matthew and Nicolas Hernandez; brothers, Benito R. Hernandez and Guadalupe (Mary) Hernandez of Weslaco; and sisters, Maria Hernandez, Navia Hernandez both of Weslaco and Lupita (Daniel) Ramirez of Bay City, TX.
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a sister-in-law, Herlinda Hernandez of Houston, TX.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5pm to 9pm, with a rosary at 7pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
