Evaristo Saenz

THREE RIVERS / WESLACO - Evaristo Saenz went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born October 26, 1924 in Three Rivers, TX and moved to Weslaco in 1955. He is preceded in death by his parents Amadeo and Luisa T. Saenz, his wife Brijida G. Saenz, and a sister Florencia S. Mascorro. Left to cherish his memory is his son and daughter Silvestre Saenz (Norma) and Dr. Viola S. Garza (Rene) and a brother Raul Saenz (Ester). Five grandchildren Gina G. Fine (Dr. Jeffrey Fine), Errek Saenz (Wendy), Lisa Garza, Michael Saenz (Abby), and Kevin Saenz. Two great-grandchildren Marcus and Gwenyth Saenz and many nephews and nieces. He was a life time member of Iglesia Cristiana Bethel. For many years he worked for Valley Growers Gin & Supply Company until his retirement, as well as, working in his family's ranch raising cattle and then converting his land to farming growing mostly cotton and sorghum. He will be dearly missed by friends and family. The Saenz family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Weslaco Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center and Dr. Penalo and clinic staff for their caring and healthcare provided. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, from 3pm-9pm with a 7pm prayer service at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31st, 10am at Iglesia Cristiana Bethel in Weslaco, follow by interment at Highland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
