Weslaco and the surrounding communities mourn the loss of a true individual, Felix Sanchez, who passed away on May 31, 2024, at McAllen Medical Center. He was the first son born on January 10, 1971, to Noe and Anna (Torres) Sanchez in his beloved hometown of Weslaco, Texas.
Felix Sanchez, a man deeply rooted in the community, was a man of many talents and passions. He graduated from Weslaco High School and became a mechanic, owning and operating Sanchez Automotive and Sanchez Service Station. His commitment to his work was unmatched, earning him the reputation of being the best in town. Felix's problem-solving skills and tireless work ethic set him apart.
Those who knew Felix intimately would describe him as hard-working, supportive, and sometimes stubborn. Despite his occasional stubbornness, he had a heart of gold and treated everyone with respect. His word was his bond, and his integrity left a lasting impression on all who crossed paths with him.
In addition to his successful career, Felix enjoyed simple pleasures such as good barbecue, beer, and sweets. He had a particular fondness for Sonic and Stars soft ice treats, often treating himself after a hard day's work. His passion for working on cars was evident to all who witnessed his craftsmanship.
Felix's second love, after work, was fishing, a lifelong hobby that started when he was just a kid. Felix's dad loved to fish, and the Sanchez family spent as much free time as they could at the beach. As an adult, Felix did the same. Fishing was his escape and time for rest while enjoying God's creation.
Among Felix's proudest accomplishments was his cherished role as a proud grandpa. His family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Felix Sanchez leaves a legacy of hard work, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his impact on those around him will never be forgotten.
Felix is preceded in death by his loving wife, Flor Estella Gonzalez Sanchez; his paternal grandfather, Rafael Sanchez; his paternal grandparents, Florentino and Julia Torres; his father, Noe Sanchez; his daughter, baby Crisabella Sanchez; and his nephew, Julian Garcia III.
