Gabriel Xavier Martinez

WESLACO -
Gabriel "Bobby" Xavier Martinez, 44, of Weslaco, passed away on February 15, 2015 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

Most know him by Gabriel, but a few know him by “Bobby” as his sister affectionatly called him as they were only 11 months apart, so she could not say “baby”, he became “Bobby” to her, his dad and a few close relatives.


Gabriel was born on February 14, 1971 to Gabriel and Beatriz Martinez at Mcallen, He attended school at PSJA and UTPA.

Gabriel worked as a Sergeant at Hidalgo County Sherrif’s office for nearly twenty years where he was respected, admired and loved as a co-worker, boss and friend.

Gabriel was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed fly fishing and bow hunting and just being in the outdoors spending time with nature and camping. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and all kinds of music. He loved to travel as well spend time with his beloved family.

Gabriel was preceded in death by his mom, Beatriz Martinez.

Gabriel "Bobby" is survived by his adoring wife, Claudia, his loving daughter, Natalie Renae Martinez; son, Gabriel Xavier Martinez, Jr.; father, Gabriel Martinez, Sister, Cynthia Lee Martinez; Two Nieces, Cassandra Martinez, Cloyē Oralia Baker.


Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm & Wednesday, February 18, 2015, 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home, Weslaco, TX.

A rosary will be held at McCaleb Funeral Home at 7:00pm, on Wednesday, February 18th.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 19th at 10:00am. at San Martin de Porres in Weslaco.
