McAllen- Glenn Lewis Green, 60, passed away on Monday, April 5th, 2021, at McAllen Medical Center. On September 19th, 1960, Glenn was born to William Green and Jo Fulcher Green in Edinburg, Texas. Glenn was the middle child of five children. They grew up in Donna, where Glenn graduated high school in 1979. He attended Pan American University for three years.
Glenn became interested in cars at a young age and learned how to fix engines and do bodywork to perfection. Glenn was a hard worker and took a lot of pride in his work. Glenn became a mechanic, which was a natural fit. He never stopped enjoying his trade and became one of the best mechanics in the area. Glenn worked for Vermeer Equipment for fifteen years and then Seiver Implement for the next fifteen years. Glenn's career was also his hobby. He continued working on cars in the evening and on weekends. One of Glenn's favorite cars to work on was the Volkswagen Bug. He owned two of them, one for his daily driving and one that he kept in mint condition for his show car.
Glenn also loved watching sports, especially his favorite team, the Houston Texans. He enjoyed a good barbecue with friends, and Glenn never was short on friends. Glenn had a great personality, talkative, outgoing, and loving. He was a selfless person, always willing to help others in need, which earned Glenn countless lifelong friendships. He couldn't go anywhere without running into someone he knew, "his peeps."
Glenn loved his children and was an amazing grandfather. He was also tough-minded and never gave up, characteristics that enabled Glenn to beat cancer.
Glenn is preceded in death by his father, William Austin Green. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Green, his mom, Jo Green of Weslaco, children, Adam Green of Kingsville, William Green (Elizabeth) of Harlingen, Christina Cura (Cayetano) of Progreso, grandchildren, Elijah Cura, Ayden Green, and William Green Jr., sisters, Debbie Payne (Dennis), Dawn Green, brothers, Lee Green (Victoria), and Billy Green, and numerous nieces and nephews.
