Gonzalo Adrian Martinez

Weslaco- Gonzalo Adrian Martinez, 23, passed away on Friday, May 26th, 2017. He was born on January 23, 1994 to Gonzalo Martinez and Araceli Ledezma. He was a twin brother to Marc and had an older brother Julian. Gonzalo struggled emotionally for most of his life. Most people would not know this about him because he was such a funny guy. He was always telling jokes and making others laugh, all the while he was hurting inside. Gonzalo is most remembered by his witty humor. In junior high, he joined theatre and was a natural. He was very talented and naturally artistic. When Gonzalo wasn't making people laugh, he was inventing things. He had a very mechanical, engineering mind. He invented a sword shooter that he carried on his arm along with several clever inventions. He was very bright and could fix any phone or computer. He was always able to think outside the box and come up with a better or different way of doing something. Gonzalo was a very intelligent man and had planned on going into engineering or welding.and come up with a better or different way of doing something. Gonzalo was also a movie "buff". This was a hobby the whole family shared, sometimes catching the last movie of the night. Gonzalo had collections of movies and enjoyed the talented actors, which probably explains his natural talent at theatre. Mostly Gonzalo will be remembered by his loving, compassionate and tender heart. He had a love for animals and a compassion for the homeless. Gonzalo reached out to anyone who was suffering to try and lend a hand. He wasn't a kid who had tons of friends, but the few he kept were very close and cherished relationships. Though his life was cut way too short, Gonzalo touched many in this short period with his kind, compassionate and clever spirit. Gonzalo is survived by his maternal grandparents, Lucy Ledezma and Mario Ledezma, his mom, Araceli Ledezma, his twin brother, Marc Ledezma, his brother, Julian Martinez. his aunts Alicia Ledezma of Albequrque, NM, Rosie Trevino (Juan) of Mercedes, Maribel Williams (Matt) of New York, uncle Joe Ledezma of Weslaco, Daniel Ledezma (Lillie) of College Station, Rebecca Hernandez (Juan), Kayla Trevino, Jonathon Trevino, and Joshua Trevino, all of Mercedes.
