Graviela Lela Sauceda

DONNA - Graviela "Lela" Sauceda went to be with our Lord on July 3, 2017. Her strong faith, love and willingness to help others will be her legacy. She will continue to serve our lord in her new heavenly home. She was born in Donna, Texas on March 18, 1937. A woman of faith and the heart of the Sauceda Family, Lela shaped their faith by her Christian example. She was involved in various groups and activates including the St. Joseph Catholic Church Guadalupanas, 2nd grade CCD teacher and a Eucharistic minister. She received her LVN license in 1958 and spent time serving others for 48 years as a WIC nurse, school nurse, home health nurse, and assisted living home nurse. She was an expert gardener, she loved her oak trees, mesquite trees and her beautiful blooming bugambilias that she loved so much. Married for 58 years to Cecilio. Cecilio and Graviela raised six beautiful children: Margie (Len), Cecilio Jr., Martha, Milly, Michele (Randy) and John Paul (Esther). Six grandchildren Christopher, Garrett, Gabby, Katie, Alexis, Amaya, a great grandchild Christopher Jr. and many other extended family members. We are truly blessed to have been part of Moms faith filled journey of living life to the fullest with those she loved so deeply and unconditional. Our angel that loved, laughed and loved! Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 1pm to 9pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco with a 7pm Rosary. Funeral Mass will be presided by Fr. Robert and Fr. Eka on Thursday, July 6, 2017, 10am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 306 S. Salinas Blvd in Donna, TX 78537. Burial to follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna, TX. Pallbearers include: John Paul Sauceda, Cecilio Sauceda Jr. Randy Hagood, Garrett Hagood and Rogelio Reyna. Honorary Pallbearers Alexis Sauceda and Len Marks. Funeral arrangements are under the care of McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco.
