Weslaco: Guadalupe G. Campos, 83, passed away at Valley Baptist Hospital in Weslaco on Friday, July 15, 2022. Guadalupe was born on March 26, 1939, to Guadalupe and Eugenia Campos in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He met his soulmate, Julia, when they were neighbors in Mexico. He and Julia raised five children in Weslaco.
Guadalupe was a hard worker. He worked in agriculture in Idaho, and the family had a farm in Mexico that Guadalupe would care for on weekends. When the kids got older, Guadalupe continued to take care of their yards because he enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in the outcome of his labor. He loved his children and grandchildren. Guadalupe was always loving, caring, and supportive. He taught his children the value of hard work, responsibility, and respect. Guadalupe earned everything he had and was generous in helping others.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Eugenia Campos, and son, Ramon Campos.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julia, children, Lucio Guadalupe Campos Sr. (America), Eugenia Campos, Alberto Campos (Myrna), and Felipe Campos (Blanca), all of Weslaco, grandchildren, Amanda Marie, Lucio Jr, Angel Hope, Alexandria “Alex” Faith, Angela (Edgar), Leo, Katalina, Odett, Osnel, Omar, Oliver, greatgrandchild Astrid and two brothers Juan, and Simon Campos.
