WESLACO - Israel Yañez, 44, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2017. Israel was born on December 6th, 1972, to Homero and Rosa Elva Yañez in Weslaco. He was one of thirteen children, which made for a fun childhood. Israel went to school in Weslaco. He was driven to succeed and he loved cars and trucks, so he became a truck driver, so he could earn a great living, doing something he loved. When he wasn't working, Israel was working on cars. This was his hobby. He loved to work on cars. He was a great mechanic and had a nack for body work. He was even featured in the Lowrider magazine for some of his work. Israel will always be remembered as the anchor of the family. He was very caring and loving. He was a support system to all of his brothers and sisters and was always there when they needed a helping hand, whether they needed a loan or some help moving furniture, or just a shoulder to cry on, "EZ" was there. Unfortunately, he suffered in a car accident about six years ago, which over time, took a tole on his body that would take his life at an early age. Israel is survived by his parents, Homero and Rosa Yañez, his siblings, Dorothy Yañez of Elsa, Luis Yañez of Weslac, Maria Yañez if Michigan, Heriberto Yañez Sr of Mercedes, Veronica Yañez of Minnesota, Rosie Saldaña (Richard) of Minnesota, Edward Yañez of Michigan, Maria Yañez of Mercedes, Alex Yañez of South Dakota, Homer Yañez Jr. of Weslaco, Juan Yañez of Lovely lady, Texas, and Omar Yañez of Minnesota, and numerous nephews and nieces.
