WESLACO - Jack T Wallace, 86, of John Knox Village, Weslaco, TX passed away peacefully on November 29, 2021, surrounded by his children. He was born on December 4, 1934 in Science Hill, KY, Jack spent most of his early school years in KY before the family moved to Smedley, IN and he graduated from Campbellsburg High School. He was a decorated Air Force veteran who served during Vietnam; spent many years flying in B-52 bombers and retired the rank of Major in 1976. He returned to Salem, IN where he spent most of his life, farming and working at the US Post Office.
Jack will be dearly missed and always remembered by his family and the many friends who knew him.
Jack was predeceased by his father, Charles, Sr., mother, Clyde (Light); brothers, Charles, Jr, (Iva) and Robert (Ann); and sister, Jean (Brunson). He is survived by his twin brother, Frank (Jan); longtime companion, Carmen Proffitt; son, David Mark; daughter, Lisa (Amado) Hernandez; granddaughter, Hannah (Ulises) and great granddaughters, Colbie and Sophia; grandsons, Andrew and Joshua; former wife, Dinah (Dahl) Schupp; Alan and Patty Woodward and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack requested cremation and scattering of his ashes, as opposed to traditional funeral services. The family is planning a Day of Remembrance in 2022.
