Jacob Fonseca Sr.

Jacob Fonseca, 61, of Mercedes, Texas, passed away at his home in Mercedes on

Friday, August 2nd, 2024. He was born on December 19th, 1962, to Maria Silva and  Benito Fonseca Sr. in Weslaco, Texas. 

Jacob was best known for putting a smile on your face and being there when you needed him. He was predeceased by his mom, dad, and brother, Cornelio. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucia, ten siblings, two sons, Jacob and Paul, and eight grandchildren, Paul Jr., Khloe, Marlene, Isaiah, Emma, Isaac, Ivan, and Ian.

Don't think of him as gone away his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. 

Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years. 

Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. 

And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
