Jessica Marie Macias went home to her Savior on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. JJ, as her family and friends knew her, was born November 21, 1980, in Pasadena, Texas, to Robert and Marilyn Macias. She was a special light and great joy to her family and everyone she met! She graduated from South Houston High School and loved working at her job, popping popcorn at the local movie theater. In 2006 she moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her mom to be closer to her loving family.
JJ loved hamburgers, pizza, Dr. Pepper, and ice cream. Her pastimes were coloring, singing, and dancing. She loved to get together with her family and play with her many nieces and nephews. Her absolute favorite thing was celebrating her birthday.
JJ’s smile and laugh could light up any room. Though she did not like getting out in public much, her mother and family were her worlds. Her childlike faith inspired her whole family, and they loved her immensely.
She is survived by her loving mother, Marilyn Macias; her father, Robert Macias; grandmother, Miriam Macias, of McAllen, TX; siblings Anthony (Bryna) Macias of Richmond, TX; Miriam (Cleve) Ford of Weslaco, TX; Jennifer (Mark) Limon of Harlingen, TX; 11 nieces and nephews; and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her nephew, David Macias, and grandparents Roberto Macias and Charles and Honore Nash.
Visitation will be Friday, 3-5 pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be Saturday, 10 am, at McCaleb Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Rev. Steven Parker of the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.

”Then, people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” Matthew 19:13-14
