PROGRESO/WESLACO- Jimmy Gonzalez Jr. 32, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2020, at his residence in Progreso. Jimmy was born on September 18, 1987, to Jimmy Gonzalez Sr. and Maria Elia Perez in Weslaco, Texas.
Jimmy grew up in Weslaco and graduated from Weslaco East in 2006. He continued his education and graduated from South Texas College as a Master Welder in 2011. He spent most of his career working in the oil field as a welder.
Jimmy loved to barbecue and go fishing. Any activity that involved friends and family was an enjoyable time for Jimmy. There was never a shortage of friends either; Jimmy had lots of them. He loved his daughter, Jazlynn, dearly, and his only niece, Anaya Grace, was very special to him.
Jimmy will always be remembered as a man with a heart of gold. He was a very respectful man and treated others around him with a genuine gentleman like respect. His beautiful heart and one of a kind personality will be genuinely missed by all who knew Jimmy.
Jimmy is survived by his paternal grandparents, Mito and Delia Gonzalez, maternal grandparents, Francisco and Olivia Perez, father, Jimmy Gonzalez Sr., mother Maria Elia Perez, sister, Janelle Gonzalez, daughter, Jazlynn Gonzalez, niece Anaya Grace, and numerous uncles and aunts.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 13th, 9 am-9 pm, with a prayer service at 6 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home.
