WESLACO - Jose Juan Ruiz, known to his family and friends as "Joe" or "Boy", passed away on January 21, 2019, at the age of thirty-three. All who knew him will remember him for many things; however, the one thing that will always set him apart from all others will always be his intellectual gift. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he touched throughout his great but short-lived memorable life. Joe was born July 9, 1985, in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas to Maria De Jesus Alvares. Joe will forever be remembered by his two greatest loves his beautiful children, Ethan and Joey, and his forever loving mother Maria de Jesus Alvares. Joe leaves his memories to his brothers and sisters; Francisco Ruiz (spouse Rocio), Maria D. Castillo (spouse Eddy), Esmeralda R. Macias (spouse Alex), Miguel Angel Ruiz (spouse Denise), Marissa Ruiz (spouse Isaac), Ramon Villarreal (spouse Ruby), Angie Benavides (spouse Fernie), Ruby Villarreal (spouse Gonzalo). Joe will also be forever remembered by his entire extended family. The family is grateful for all the years spent and memories built. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, January 22, from 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 pm prayer service at McCaleb Funeral Home, 900 W. 4th St., Weslaco, TX 78596. A Celebration of Joe's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, at St. Joan of Arc, 109 S Illinois Ave, Weslaco, TX 78596. Interment will follow at the Weslaco City Cemetery.
