Jose Manuel Soto Sr., 64, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Doctors Hospital Renaissance in Edinburg. Jose was born to Simon and Guadalupe Soto-Leal on October 27, 1958.
He married Ninfa Villarreal, and they raised seven children together in Weslaco. Jose became a truck driver. He was a great provider and traveled countless hours and miles. However, Jose’s priority was family. He led by example, sacrificing so his children would have more opportunities than he did. As a result, Jose was able to see his children grow up and become successful, hard-working adults with their own families.
Jose loved sharing his life stories with his children and grandchildren. He wanted to share life lessons, adventures, and fun experiences with those he cared about. Holidays were unique and always spent with their large close family.
Most importantly, Jose was a man of God, and his Catholic faith never wavered.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Guadalupe Soto, and brothers, Porfirio Soto (Concha) and Simon Soto.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ninfa; seven children, Carla Beltran (Javier), Sandra Prado (Gumecindo), Janeth Hernandez (Samuel Sr.), Jose Manuel Soto Jr. (Jessica), Yesenia Soto, Victor Soto, and Michael Soto (Janie); siblings, Margarito Soto (Anselma), Francisco Soto (Martha+), Jesus Soto (Gabina+), Marco Antonio Soto (Olga), Martha Garcia (Luis), Vicky Lopez (Rodolfo), Isabel Amador (Carlos), Alma Soto, and Janie Soto, sister-in-law, Rosa Soto; grandchildren, Jesus, Dylan, Jose, and Carina Prado, Miguel, Jacqueline, Ximena, Samantha, and Monserrat Hernandez, Leonardo, Kaitlyn, and Jose III Soto, Michael Jr., and Isaiah Soto.
