He was born on October 10, 1942, in Linares, Mexico. Jose lived a life that exemplified hard work and commitment, particularly in the agricultural sector, where he devoted most of his career to providing for his family.
Known for his enthusiastic personality, Jose was a mentor and a storyteller who shared his rich experiences with those around him. His passion for education profoundly influenced his family, and he instilled in them the crucial lesson of its importance—a legacy that will undoubtedly resonate for generations to come. Jose took immense pride in watching his children pursue their education, marking this as one of his proudest accomplishments.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Ascencion and Margarita Velasquez, his loving wife Maria del Socorro Velasquez Mendoza. He is survived by his children, Yesenia Velasquez (Jesus Martinez), Jose Luis Velasquez (Susana), Thalia Josefina Torres (Rudy Edwin), grandchildren, Brian, Steve, Scarlett, Isaac, Yadira, Jayden, and Lucy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
