Juana T Hernandez

June 19, 1945 — May 31, 2018

Weslaco/Lockney- Juana T. Hernandez passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 31st, 2018 at the age of 73. She was born on June 19th, 1945 in Matamoros, Mexico. She came to live in Weslaco, and was also raised in Lubbock and Florida, along with her 10 brothers and sisters, and made her home in Weslaco and Lockney. Juana married Pedro Hernandez and they continued working hard together, raising their own family of ten children. Juana became a field labor supervisor in Florida and Lockney. She was a hard worker all of her life and dedicated mother. They eventually settled in Lockney, Texas, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Juana had a green thumb and had a passion for gardening. She loved to sew, needlework, embroidery, loved volunteering at her church, cooking and baking, and her word search puzzles. She also loved her Bingo. She was a tough, stern and yet loving person, who loved wearing boots and jeans. She loved to joke around and tell stories of the places she's been to and the collection of mementos and keepsakes, and how long she had them. She also loved to cook turkey and tamales during the holidays and share with others. She enjoyed traveling, but Juana will mostly be remembered for the love she had for her family. She was instrumental in the care of her parents as they became ill and were called home to Heaven and had a loving and close relationship with her brothers and sisters, which she helped her mother Coca raise, along with raising her own children. She also helped raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, all of whom she adored and held a special place in her heart. Her memory will live forever because she was loved by all she met. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She received our Lord Jesus as her Savior and is now Rejoicing in His Presence. We all live with the hope of being Reunited unto God because, "He promises to prepare a place for us in His Father's House and takes us Home."
