Juanita Leal

Juanita R. Leal, 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, February 22, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 28, 1928, to the late Jenovevo and Guadalupe B. Rios. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Maria Sandoval, Guadalupe Rios, Siria Gonzalez, Jenovevo Rios, Jr., and Jose Casimiro Rios.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her husband, Antonio Leal, Sr.; son Antonio (Bertha) Leal, Jr.; daughters Lupita (Rick) Talbert and Leticia Leal; sisters Francisca “Pancha” Garcia, Dolores A. Saenz, and Blanca Elia “Nena” Garcia; grandchildren Priscilla A. (Arnoldo) Fuentes, Nicole Govea, Laura J. (R.J.) Clark, Anthony R. “Bobby” Talbert, and Anthony J. Leal; great-grandchildren Natasha M. Guerrero, Ayden A. Fuentes, Austin I. Fuentes and Annabelle N. Leal; sister-in-law Lucy Leal; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday, February 24, at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM with a Rosary prayer beginning at 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Rick Talbert, Bobby Talbert, Arnoldo Fuentes, Gilbert Garcia, Oscar Garcia, Jared Leal and R.J. Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Juanita’s nephew Ricardo Garcia and her great-grandchildren, Natasha, Ayden and Austin.
