Weslaco - Kristina Villarreal, 30, passed away on Thursday, December 20th, after a three year battle with ovarian cancer. Kristina was born on September 9th, 1988 to Freddy Gonzalez and Lisa Reyes. She was the oldest of six siblings, Freddy Jr., Sabrina, Katrina, Ryan, and Caden. Kristina became a mom at the young age of fifteen. She still managed to graduate from high school, while caring for her daughter Janine. She met the love of her life, Issac Villarreal a few years later and they had a daughter, Kiya-Lee. Issac and Kristina raised both girls together and were active members of the First Baptist Church of Weslaco, where they were married. Kristina worked at Miramar Pain Management in the medical records department. Kristina was a bit of a "diva." She loved makeup, manicures, pedicures, and any kind of pampering a woman deserves. She loved to sing to her kids and loved to bake homemade treats for her family and friends. She absolutely enjoyed sitting on the sofa watching the Cowboys or the Yankees, or any other big game with her husband. Although Kristina will be remembered as a princess and diva, she could still take on a game of volleyball, baseball or any other competitive sport during family gatherings. She was also a fighter, and she fought cancer with drive and determination. We are confident that she will be rewarded with a heavenly banquet and will continue to sing to her children for the rest of their precious lives. Kristina is survived by her loving husband, Issac Villarreal, daughters, Janine Reyes, and Kiya-Lee Villarreal, father Freddy Gonzalez Sr. (Julissa), mother, Lisa Jordan (Tommy), brothers, Freddy GonzalezJr., Ryan Hall, and Caden Jordan, sisters, Sabrina and Katrina Gonzales, paternal grandparents, Fred Gonzales and Hortencia Padilla, maternal grandparents, John and Dela Reyes, and close friend, whom Kristina referred to as a second mom, Chantelle Russell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Weslaco, 10 am, with Pastor Joe Aguilar officiating.
