Weslaco- Lawerance "Larry" John Neumann, 75, passed away peacefully at the Aurora House in Weslaco. He was born on May 8th, 1941 to Marion and Amy Burtzloff Neumann in Gordon, Nebraska. Larry was the oldest of 5 boys, Troy (dec.), Tate (Arlean), Lynn (Linda) and Bruce (Essie) all living in the vicinity of Pine River, MN. Larry and his wife, Edith Jeannette Johnson moved to Minnesota in 1964 where they farmed. Larry soon started working in real estate, and then insurance sales. Edith passed away in 1988. Larry loved the warm Texas weather, and eventually moved there. He was living in South Padre Island when he met Patricia in 1990. Larry married Patricia Norman in 1991, and they enjoyed 26 years together. He was a successful insurance agent, and they were able to spend a lot of time traveling, as Larry was rewarded many trips due to his success. They went on several cruises and were able to spend time in Europe and Switzerland. They went to Las Vegas many times. Larry loved family and travel. Larry's hobbies included fishing and hunting. He also loved to watch football and was a fan of the Cowboys and Vikings. In recent years, Larry loved to sit outside enjoying the sunshine and nature, and pondering life, both the life he had lived, and the hope of life eternal. He enjoyed time spent with family, friends, and so many Winter Texans. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother Troy, and his first wife, Edith. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his children, Joannie Bianchini Dunn (Tracy) of San Antonio,TX; Dana Mitchell (Scott) of Oak Ridge, TN; Dawn Neumann of Pine Ridge, MN; John Neumann (Bonnie) of Pequot Lakes, MN; and Lori Anderson (Eric) of Bloomington, MN; his step-children: Rick Norman (Beth) of Yazoo, MS; Bobby Norman (Kaylynn) of McAllen, TX; Melissa Johnson (Art), of Burnett, TX, and Jeff Norman (Gail) of Bastrop, TX., grandchildren, Gareth and Dylan Bianchini, Forrest and Rye Akervik, Raylee and Rainee Mitchell, Justin, Kayla, Michael and Aimee Neumann, Trevin, Grayson and 'Baby Luv' Anderson, Shane Norman (Vicky), Annlee Norman, AJ Norman, Clayton Norman, Kathryn Norman, James (Kayla) Johnson, Victoria Johnson, and Neal Norman, great grandchildren, Alex, Jeremiah, Dominic, and Marcus Norman, and numerous nephews and nieces. Larry will long be remembered as a fun-loving man who was genuine, honest and hard-working. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 2-5pm with a funeral service at 5pm, at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel, with Westin Price and Doug Murray officiating.
