Weslaco: Leonor T Ellis was born on January 3, 1934 to Arnulfo and Emilia De Leon Tamez. She was the eldest of five children. She passed away on May 16, 2014 in McAllen, Texas.
She was the light of our lives and now illumines the skies of the heavenly realm. She had an intimate relationship with her Lord and was a woman of strong faith. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Jack R. Ellis, M.D., her parents and beloved sister Amalia Cavazos.
Fun loving and beautiful, Leonor was the quintessential glamour girl who never left the house looking anything less than perfect.
She was a highly trained Family Nurse Practitioner and worked at her husband’s side for many years. Later, after her retirement, she willingly volunteered her time at various Valley non-profit clinics.
She enjoyed spending her days with her sister Carmina Tamez, best friend Rose Esparza and cousins Carmelo and Tule Tamez.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Robles (Elsa) of McAllen, Roy Robles (Caroline) of McAllen, daughter Jacquelyn LaMunion (Kevin) of Austin, and granddaughters Tiffany and Yvonne Robles, brothers Azael Tamez (Irma) and Carlos Tamez (Hilda), sister, Carmina Tamez and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, May 19t, 2014 from 5:00-9:00pm, with a prayer service at 7:00pm @ McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel in Weslaco.
Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 10am at La Santisima Trinidad, 409 E 2nd St & Iowa in Weslaco, officiated by Rev. Carlos L. Zamora. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Pallbearers are beloved friends and relatives. Services are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
