WESLACO - Linda Cruse, 72, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Weslaco. Linda was born on September 12th, 1944 to Chuck and Oma Mae Bergman. She grew up in Goldsberry, Missouri, where her parents were successful farmers. She had two sisters, Lilly and Lana. Linda graduated from Ethyl High School where she was a successful athlete and student. She played was selected to the all conference basketball team and she was a majorette. She also graduated valedictorian of her class. The night of graduation, she wondered into a place called the "Roadhouse" and this would change her life. She met the love of her life, Edmund Cruse that evening and they were married three months later. They had one daughter in 1963. Julie Cruse. Linda also helped raise her step son, Eric. In 2004, Edwin and Linda made their way to Weslaco to enjoy winters and they were hooked. They became members of the Lutheran Church in Weslaco and decided to make this their permanent home about four years ago. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Lana Bergmann and Lilly Maude. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Edwin, her daughter, Julie Cruse, and her step son, Eric Cruse (Irene). She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. She was a good Christian woman and she was full of joy and laughter. She could light up any room she walked into.
