Linda Belle Seils Kopecky, 75, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, passed away in her home in Weslaco on April 9, 2024.
She was born on July 23, 1948, in Benton Harbor, MI. The family moved to Weslaco, where she grew up, graduated from Weslaco High School, and met the love of her life, Robert S. "Bob" Kopecky. They were married on July 27, 1968. Linda and Bob spent the next few years living and working in and around Houston until they settled in Dayton, TX, where they raised their three wonderful children, George Christopher, Shawn Curtis, and Elizabeth Ann.
Linda worked many years as a secretary in the Houston area and later began working for the Dayton Independent School District, from which she retired.
After her retirement, she moved back to Weslaco. There, she could be found indulging in a good book, hanging out in her garden, helping at the First Presbyterian Church, and most of all, traveling and visiting family, especially her grandchildren and friends.
Linde is survived by her daughter Elizabeth and daughter-in-law Sherry (George). Also surviving are grandchildren Clayton (Agustin), Austin, Sean (Courtney), Joseph, Aiden, Noah, and a great-grandchild, who is on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers, Eddie (Jane) and Raymond (Barbara) Seils, and sister, Jeannie Emmons (Mike) Corso, as well as many extended family members and long-time friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Arthur Seils, mother Elizabeth Emmons Wardlow, her devoted and loving husband Bob, and two sons George and Shawn.
