Loraine Darrington-Monday passed away on September 12th, 2014 at the age of 85. Loraine was the wife of William Monday who she enjoyed 33 years of marriage. She was the mother of three daughters, all surviving, Lynn (Frank) Jarvenpaa, Lori (Paul) Thomas, Leah Nuetzel, from her late husband, William Darrington. She also left three step-daughters, Wendy Peterson, Kelly Monday, and Ann (Kal) Althoff. Also surviving are five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild and five great-great-grandchildren. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Agnes Jungwirth and her sister Shirly Jungwirth.
Loraine was a member of St Joan of Arc Church in Weslaco. She was retired as a sales manager from Muza Metal Products where she worked in the Leisure Living Division. Loraine was on the board of directors for the Leach Company Credit Union and was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association. Before moving to Texas, Loraine sang in the choir at Sacred Heart and St John the Baptist for many years. She had many hobbies, to name a few, oil painting, swimming, volunteering at the John Knox Country Store, boating, and entertaining friends and family. Loraine will be fondly remembered and a missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20th, 9:30 am,at John Knox Village in Weslaco.
