Donna - Lourdes Z Villarreal, passed away March 6, 2017 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Lourdes was born February 11, 1946 to Luciano and Sebastiana Zamora. Lourdes is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Paulita Zamora. She is survived by her son, Jose David Garza (Dahlinda) of Donna and her daughter, Diana Casares (A. Omar Flores, Jr.) of Mission, her brothers, Jacinto Zamora (Alicia) of Donna and Juan Zamora (Consuelo) of Plainview, Texas, her grandchildren, Ashly Mora (Carlos Chavez) of San Antonio, Cassandra Mora (Brian Jimenez) of Weslaco, Annelise Garza of Weslaco, D'Angelo, Sebastian, and Angelique Casares of Mission, and Sara Flores of Pharr (Emmanuel Escobedo), great grandchildren, Karolyn, Andrew, and Charlyn Chavez, Landon and Logan Jimenez, Haylee Loya, and Rudy Escobedo, and numerous nephews and nieces. Lourdes was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She was a single mom and worked hard to raise her two children, David and Diana. She led by example, working long hours, and exemplifying selflessness. When her mother died in 1974, she cared for her father until his passing in 1999, along with her two young children. When Lourdes was not working, she enjoyed sewing, bingo, adding to her collection of elephant figurines and listening to music. Some of her favorites were Vicente Fernandez and Johnny Cash. Her favorite hobby was helping family members. She had a passion for giving and serving others. Even in her last days, when she was unable to work and was supposed to be resting, she was out delivering snacks and drinks to her family at work. Lourdes will always be remembered as a kind, loving, hard-working and generous soul, always putting others before herself. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 - 9 pm with a rosary at 7pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna.
