Manuel Reyes

WESLACO - Manuel Reyes, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Weslaco. Manuel was born in Elsa, Texas, an only child, to parents Marcos and Lupita Reyes. He was married to Amparo Alcantar Reyes for over 40 years and he and Amparo raised their only son, Manuel Reyes Jr. in Weslaco. He worked as a mechanic for Donalson Ford over 34 years where he retired as a certified auto mechanic. Manuel was a very hard worker and was also very good at his professions, so he continued in his field after retirement working as an auto mechanic from his home.
He was a huge football fan and a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Even when Manuel was very ill and television had not been on for many days, he still managed to keep aware of when the Cowboys were playing.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Amaparo, his only son, Manuel Jr. and his wife, Andrea, and his three grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew and Allison Reyes.
He will always be remembered as a hard worker, loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend.
