Maria Inez Contreras

Maria Inez (Neche) Contreras of Weslaco, TX passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Aurora House in Weslaco surrounded by her family, after a long battle with bone cancer. Mrs. Contreras was 75 yrs old and born in Goliad, TX on April 19, 1939. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother and was a housewife that lived the majority of her life in Weslaco, TX with her husband Bernabe (Benny) Contreras. "Precious", as she was known to her dearest family members, lived her life for her family. Her joy in life was going to her grandchildren's games and activities. Maria Inez (Neche) Contreras is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe and Juanita Garcia, her sister Criselda Rodriguez and brother Roberto Garcia. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Bernabe (Benny) Contreras; two sons Anestacio (Andy) Contreras (Rebecca Abeyta) and Bernabe (Benny) Contreras Jr.; grandchildren, Andrew Contreras and Amanda Marie Contreras; two great grandchildren, Ava Lorraine Contreras and Ryan Andrew Contreras; two sisters Mamie Firova, Maria Palmira (Paul) Garcia, bothers Guadalupe (Mary) Garcia Jr., LG Garcia, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Contreras family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Farray and the staff at the Aurora House for their constant care and attention of our loving mother Maria Inez during her illness. A rosary will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Mccaleb Funeral home in Weslaco, TX.
