Maria Marquez

DONNA — Maria Marquez, 58, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at her residence following a brief illness. Born in Slatin, Texas to Lucio and Christina Soliz, she was a lifelong resident of Weslaco. She was a 27 year employee of the Weslaco ISD Food Service Department. She is survived by her husband, Joe A. Marquez, three daughters Dianna Jaramillo, Dolores M. Sanchez (Joe) and Dora A. Ramirez (David), her mother Christina Soliz. Also surviving are four sisters Maria I. Valdivia, Irma Soliz Moguel, Sandra O. San Roman and Christina E. Perez also surviving are her six grandchildren. Visitation will take place today, Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel in Weslaco.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco with interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron J. Sanchez, Javier F. Sanchez, Ignacio “Nacho” Marquez, Francisco San Roman Jr., Juan Jose San Roman and Adan Josue Rodriguez. Arrangements under the directions of McCaleb Funeral Home.
