It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marisella Alejandro Lopez, also known as Marcy, who departed this world on June 25, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, nurse, and friend who will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Born on August 28, 1977, in Berrien Center, Michigan to loving parents, Miguel & Esther Alejandro. Marisella was a compassionate and caring person from a young age. She went on to have a successful career as a Registered Nurse for 22 years. She worked for Progreso ISD, also as a Migrant Community Outreach Nurse, Migrant Farmworker, and Home Health D.O.N., always going above and beyond in her duties to help those in need. Prior to working for Progreso ISD, her heart was with Labor & Delivery.
Marisella was an adventurous spirit who loved traveling every summer with her family to Michigan to reminisce about past childhood memories. She had an infectious smile that could light up any room and a heart of gold that made everyone feel valued and appreciated.
She was best known for being the best mom ever and the coolest aunt ever. Marisella was always there for everyone and was known to be a really good counselor too. Her dedication towards her family was unparalleled as evident through her proudest accomplishments which were having a family, and being a student advocate and an Autism advocate. She dedicated significant time to advocating for those who were underprivileged and needed assistance in navigating life’s challenges. Her kind heart didn’t stop there; she also provided guidance to those struggling with personal issues and illnesses.
She is preceded in death by her sister, San Juanita Gabaldon.
Marisella is survived by her loving husband Samuel Lopez, her children Sam Jr., Lauren, and Emmanuel, sisters Michelle (Ismael) and Mary, and all her extended family who stood by her side through thick and thin. Though she has left us, she has left behind unforgettable memories that will live on forever.
Family and friends are invited to join us at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco TX on Wednesday, June 28th,2023 where we will celebrate the life of this wonderful woman. Visitation will be held from 3 pm - 9 pm followed by a Nurse's Honor Guard Ceremony at 6:45 pm and a prayer service starting at 7 pm.
While our hearts are heavy with sorrow from losing such an amazing soul too soon, we take some comfort in knowing that Marisella has found peace and is now looking down upon us smiling, knowing that she made our world just a little bit brighter in so many ways.
